Today, we go cycling! We start with Sha Tin, then go to Tai Po and finally we visit Tai Mei Tuk!

Tolo Harbour is a sheltered harbor in northeast New Territories of Hong Kong. The Shing Mun River empties first into Tide Cove, then the harbor. It is one of Hong Kong's 235 islands, Ma Shi Chau is located in the harbor.

It is One of Hong Kong's most picturesque ferry routes commence near University station, at Ma Liu Shui, Sha Tin. A twice-daily, three-and-a-half hour circular ferry route takes passengers past scenic rural villages to the fisherman's island of Tap Mun in Mirs Bay, north of Sai Kung peninsula. Tolo Harbour also has its own pleasant cycling track.

You can ride the bicycle that start in Sha Tin. You can see the famous river – Shing Mun River is nearby you. Then, you may see the racecourse.

Sha Tin Racecourse
Sha Tin Racecourse is one of the two racecourses for horse racing in Hong Kong. It is located in Sha Tin in the New Territories. It is managed by Hong Kong Jockey Club.
It was built in 1978 on reclaimed land and is the larger of the two tracks in Hong Kong.

On September 9, 2007, Sha Tin race track opened for the season with record 1-day crowd of about 60,000. Chief Secretary Henry Tang strokes the ceremonial gong. Sunny Power, booted by Howard Cheng got the trophy in the 1,200 metre dash

Hong Kong Science Park
After Sha Tin Racecourse, you can see the Hong Kong Science Park . The Hong Kong Science Park is a science park in Hong Kong, located in Pak Shek Kok, New Territories, on the boundary of Sha Tin District and Tai Po District. It is also next to the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Ma Liu Shui and is on the Tolo Harbour waterfront.
It is an infrastructure that provides a knowledge-based and campus-like environment of 220,000 square metres where high-technology enterprises and talented people can converge to generate synergistic forces. It is designed to accommodate companies of all sizes and stages of development and to promote interaction and innovation at both local and global level.

Tai Po Waterfront Park
Along the Tolo Harbor, you can arrive Tai Po after 2 hours. I suggest you can go to Tai Po Waterfront Park.
Tai Po Waterfront Park is in Tai Po in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It is located along Tolo Harbour, and its western end is at the northern part of the mouth of the Lam Tsuen River. It occupies an area of 22 hectares, and is the largest park managed by Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Every year, the Tai Po Dragon Boat Race is held in the sea off the park.
The park has a wide range of public facilities including rest gardens, sitting-out areas, an insect house, a 1.2 km promenade along the harbour front, a jogging trail with fitness stations and a 600-seat amphitheatre.

Lookout Tower
The lookout tower is 32.4 metres high; it gives visitors a panorama view over Tolo Harbor, the Tai Po Industrial Estate and the rugged countryside stretching back to the boundary with mainland China.
The plaques of the lookout tower depict the history of Tai Po, including the struggle with British army when they originally entered the New Territories, the heroic resistance against Japanese army during the Occupation and prosperity after World War II.

We took photos on the tower!

Tai Mei Tuk
You can go through the Waterfront Park and go to the Tai Mei Tuk.
Tai Mei Tuk is a place close to the Plover Cove Reservoir in Tai Po District, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is a very popular place in Hong Kong for barbecues and cycling. There are villages and harbor nearby where many restaurants can be found. Bicycles are also available for hiring in the villages.
In Tai Mei Tuk, you can enjoy the view and have a BBQ here!

Hope you like the cycling trip!
