Today we visited a wonderful place---Stanley!
We took a bus to get there in the morning. First, we went to Stanley market.
The street is a typical example of a traditional old open-air market in Hong Kong. It is the perfect place to buy something special for friends or relatives. There are many little shops that selling the silk garments, sportswear, art, Chinese costume jewelry and souvenirs. I bought many souvenirs but I like this most! (Jerry Bakery).
Each cans’ pattern are different and all the cookies are handmade. It’s so delicious! It's a must buy souvenir! I stronly recommed the cookies!
It was so tired after the Stanley market so we went to have a lunch. There are many wonderful restaurants and bars in Stanley Main Street. There are variety of different foods (including French, Italian, American, Indian and Thai) or relax with a beer and soak up the friendly atmosphere in one of its bars. We chose "Rock Salt".
We ate much delicious sea food. We recommend going for the Crab cakes with water cress tomato salad, chef's daily dipping sauce (HK$78) and the Hot mussels cooked in spicy tomato (HK$148). It was a wonderful lunch!
Then we went to Murray House.
Murray House is a restored Victoria-era building (1844). In 1982 it was dismantled to make way for the Bank of China Tower which now sits on the original site. It was restored in 1998 and now houses the Hong Kong Maritime Museum as well as restaurants.
Stanley is a nice place and hope all of you have a nice day in Stanley!
Tourists can go to MTR Hong Kong Station Exit D and take bus 6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260 from Exchange Square Bus terminus, Central.
